Stopped by last Sat. for a meal with a good friend. Went at 11:35AM and there were 2 tables seated. We ordered and was enjoying our food when I looked up and realized the place was full! That was about 11:50AM. We ordered 2 small jjamppong and the pork tangsuyuk. Excellent, as always. We got full off the jjamppong so I took most of the tangsuyuk home to Vegas. The owner recognized me and said happy to see you. I hadn't been here since about 2 years ago. I was a regular for years and it was nice of him to still remember me.
For fourth generation in Koreatown, Los Angeles, Southern California Simply the best
I've been coming to this Chinese (Korean style) place with my family for a long time now. They serve ultimate comfort food like jjajangmyun a.k.a. black bean noodles, jjampong (spicy seafood noodle soup), shrimp fried rice, sweet & sour pork and fried dumplings. You won't be disappointed if you're craving some hearty (greasy) mighty delicious Chinese dishes. They have great service and usually the food comes out so fast. If you love black bean noodles like I do, try their yoo-ni-jja-jang. It's the best!! Highly recommended!
I love bing su and this place was really good! I also loved that you had the option to order in person or on a big ipad filled with pictures and description. Very easy to order and they deliver to your table. The fruit felt fresh and I loved the ice cream, jellies that came with. I would come again just for this dish alone. Also very quite and cute place.
The jjajangmyeon was delicious, but like some other reviewers - the noodles could have been better. The black bean sauce was pretty good. The tang soo yuk was nicely executed; get the beef since it's not that much more than the pork. The jjampong was okay but missing the Incheon style/flavors. The customer service was okay. The decor has not changed for decades, but this is what makes this place so nostalgic. DM me with any Lee Yeon Bok-level Korean-Chinese cuisine places to check out, please!
